Objective

To develop a LOD 300 3D Revit model of Architectural and Structural elements of a Public Townhall building from the point cloud data provided by the client.

Summary

The existing town hall building was being analyzed. The client had provided us with the point cloud, pdfs as well as photographs of these existing buildings. We had to develop a 3D Architectural and Structural Revit model for the project.

  • The project consisted of 3 floors with subfloors and 1 level of the basement.
  • The town hall had a typical type of pitched roof, ceilings, dormers, and detailed sweeps.
  • We were required to create external faces and interior elements of the building in a 3D Revit model (LOD 300) from the provided point cloud and photographs.

The elements to be modeled were as follows:

  • Architectural Model – Walls, Doors, Windows, Sanitary Fixtures, Floor, Roof, Ceiling, Façade details (Wall sweeps/ Window trims), Handrail, Fixed furniture, and Material Specifications all to be placed in accuracy with scans.
  • Structure Model – Columns, Beam, Staircase, and Railings.
